=The first sin? Eve standing there apples come in different sizes and so do women.
Roundness of apples contribute to feminism.
-apples are fruitfull so maybe saying something to the theme of the drama
-Poison (snow white story)
apple is shiny- connotes that women are clean and tidy
- Typography presents to us a fairytale undertone
Eve's position= women are vunerable and need to be taken care of.

Dexter title analysis

Some of you still haven't put your sections of Dexter notes onto your blogs. Here's what I have from class:

Cinematography:
Start- focus on mosquito. kills it. camera refocuses on to dexters face (smile).
Extreme close-ups - e.g. cleaning blood,cooking,cutting orange shows intimate detail
Close up on face before leaving house
Mysterious, only see his face clearly at end
dark side

Sound:
Foley track (emphasises sound) digetic sound
- blood dripping
- flossing
- pulling key out
- cooking
- slicing orange
- killing the fly

- shaving
Non-digetic sound
- creepy music
- jolly/fairground
- ticking
- casual/jaunty

- music fades away when he gets outside (matches his facial expression)

blood, fruit and other red liquids murder
cloths white t-shirt (normality) suggest smothering
Facial expression creepy and seems like a syco, but is the opposite when he leaves his house
props the way he shaves shows the first sign of blood.Normal morning- Breakfast, flossing, shaving etc.

Dexter is written in blood
Jump cuts : him waking up and him shaving, the blood drips in the sink and him wipeing the blood slithering down his neck, him wipeing his neck and him cutting open the meat, him putting the meat in the pan and him stabbin and twisting it, he then puts the meat into his mouth and begins chewing it, also the eggs he breaks the eggs and then stabs it it in the pn and twists it like painful stab wound.

Textual Analysis

Textual analysis of breaking down a text into its various elements and studying them to analyse how a meaning is created. When analysing moving image media (such as film or television) we must examine the following areas:
Camera work (shots, angles, movements)
Editing (how shots have been put together)
Sound (both digetic and non-digetic)
Special effects (if there are any)
Mise-en-scene (costume, make-up, facial expression, props setting, performance)

Crab- the camera moves sideways.
Side- The camera stays in the same place but pivots left or right.
Steadicam- strapped to a person.
Hand-held camera- Hand-held.

Low Camera- looking up at subject, making it look bigger
Canted- Camera is tilted to make subject look tilted
High- Camera is looking down on subject, making it look smaller
Worms eye- Extreme low angle, camera looking up, very low
Eye level- Camera pointed exactly at suject
Birds eye/Arieal- Extereme high angle, Camera or high angle very high, looking down.

Eastenders..The Case Study.

* Eastenders is on every evening of the week at around about
7.30pm or 8.00pm it runs for about 27-29 mins except Wednesday nights when the
Tv drama Waterloo Road is on.

* It was first broadcasted on BBC1 on the 19th of February 1985 and is still continuing to
date making it 23 years old and is still a succsess and still the most followed soap. So far there
has been upto 3767 episodes as of 24th of April 2009. The first families to arrive on the
infamous Albert square were the Beales and the Fowlers.

* people watched as a family and regarded it as viewing for all the family. Based on market
research by BBC commissioning in 2003, EastEnders is most watched by 60–74 year olds, although all age groups watch it and it is
closely followed by 45–59 year olds. An average EastEnders episode attracts a total audience
share between 35 and 40%. Aside from that, the 10 p.m. repeat showing on BBC Three
attracts. an average of 500,000 viewers, whilst the Sunday omnibus generally attracts 3
million. EastEnders is one of the more popular soaps on television alongside Hollyoaks, coronation street, and emmerdale.

*Eastenders closely follows its main target audience by making the drama so unbeatable with everyone talking about what happened the following day it's key slogan "Eastenders; Everyones talking about it" shows this.
